matureaccountants was set up in 2005 to address two issues that I had identified in my working life, namely the difficulty that many experienced accountants have in getting work when they get to a certain age (as young as their early 40s) and the added-value that experienced candidates can offer, typically to the SME community where busy and in many cases overstretched owner-managers need access to our type of resources. The “mature” candidate (and we are talking here about experience and NOT age) provides a range of attractive options for such clients including:

3. They are happy to look at full time, part time and interim roles.

4. They need minimum training and supervision.

5. They are commercially savvy.

We have nearly 1.000 candidates on our books and that number is increasing daily. They all have one thing in common and that is experience. Whether it is an experienced Sageline 50 book-keeper to somebody who has worked as CFO for a FTSE 100 company we cover a wide range of capabilities and skills. We have many candidates with experience of MBO/MBI transactions and exposure to VC backed deals. As we are an internet-based business we have no geographical boundaries and our candidates are based throughout the UK although there is a bias to London and the South East.



When you deal with matureaccountants you deal with experienced finance professionals NOT recruiters. As a former BDO partner and FD of a range of companies, including VC backed, I can offer my clients a service that goes way beyond traditional recruitment. I work with a number of associates who are also experienced accountants so we all talk the same language and in many cases we can offer advice to our clients beyond the normal remit. We are also looking for licensees overseas to develop the brand on a global basis.



As we are a lean business with minimal overhead we can offer very competitive terms to our clients with recruitment fees starting as low as 15% of the salary. We can offer a bespoke service for each vacancy and will do as little or as much of the process as the client requires.
